The League Tables for the 2007/8 academic year were published last week and St Bernard's was the best Slough school for A-level results by some margin. Indeed, St Bernard's was the 89th best selective school in England for A-levels. See the full list in this Independent article. The only other selective school with "Catholic" in its title was St Michael's Catholic Grammar School in North Finchley, a girls' school. How did the Academies do? Well, according to this article in the Times, only around a third of Academy pupils gained 5 GCSEs including English and Maths - about the same as St Joseph's at 36%.
