It's old news now but just for the record here's the Expression of Interest letter from Slough Borough Council to Lord Adonis at the DCSF dated 3 October 2008. Click HERE to view it. Everyone's in favour, apparently - both governing bodies, the headteachers, the Diocese and the local authority. It'll offer world class education, so they say.
