Margaret Lenton, Head of Slough Grammar, resigned last week according to the 23 September 2009 print edition of the Slough Midweek Observer.  No details are given as to the reasons for the resignation.  The newspaper states that Mrs Lenton announced her decision last week.  In its print edition of Friday 26 September 2009, the newspaper stated that Mrs Lenton intended studying for a PhD and would stay in post for as long as it took the governors to find a replacement.

Once a new Head is appointed, it will be interesting to see whether Slough Grammar rejoins the Slough Consortium of grammar schools - St Bernard's, Langley and Herschel - which it left a few years ago.

Langley Grammar has a new Headteacher starting in January 2010. Herschel Grammar's Headteacher is new to the job. Of the grammar schools in the Slough area, Mr John McAteer is the longest serving Headteacher by a considerable margin.
