At the recent elections at St Bernard's for three parent governors, three members of the FaCT Executive Committee put themselves forward and were elected.  They are:

1. Chris Beer
2. Pat McGill
3. Tony O’Shea

Congratulations to all of them.

While none of the six candidates who stood for the parent governor positions expressed support for the merger, it's still great to know that now all the parent governors at St Bernard's are definitely opposed to it.

On the downside, the three parent governors represent very much a minority of the governing body, comprising as it does:

a) Eleven Foundation Governors appointed by the Diocese of Northampton, of whom at least four will be parents of children attending the school;
b) Two representative Governors appointed by Slough Borough Council;
c) Two elected Teacher Governors;
d) Three elected Parent Governors;
e) One elected non-teaching member of staff;
f) The Headteacher
